Urban and peri-urban foxes

This report provides the outcomes of an investigation commissioned by the South West Group into the spatial movement of foxes in 7 municipalities in the southern suburbs of Perth. Useful data were collected on 13 foxes and home range and activity area data were determined. The report discusses habitat utilisation and goes on to provide recommendations for better management of foxes in urban and peri-urban areas.

This report was prepared by Dr Graham and Dr Scott Thompson.

The South West Group, a Voluntary Regional Organisation of Councils, partnered with its member Councils (the Cities of Cockburn, Fremantle, Kwinana, Melville and Rockingham and the Town of East Fremantle), the City of Canning, and the South West Corridor Development Foundation Inc. to support the project with funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
